Imprinta Privacy Policy

Imprinta is a book-writing, design and publishing application. This policy describes how Imprinta handles manuscripts, preferences and optional online services.

Information stored on your device

Imprinta stores your books, chapters, book details, cover settings, reading position, application preferences and export history locally on your device. API credentials that you provide for optional online services are stored in Apple Keychain.

Imprinta does not operate an account system and does not require you to sign in to use its local writing, design, reading or export features.

Files you choose to import or export

When you import a manuscript or image, Imprinta reads the file you select so it can create or update a book. When you export, back up or share a book, Imprinta creates the requested file and presents Apple’s system sharing interface. The destination is chosen by you and is governed by that destination’s privacy practices.

Optional online services

Imprinta can connect to optional online text-to-speech providers when you configure one and explicitly invoke it. Before Imprinta first sends content to a provider, it asks for your permission and identifies what content will be sent and where. Online text-to-speech sends manuscript sentences to the provider you select and may prefetch the next sentence for uninterrupted playback.

Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Provider accounts and API keys may link submitted content to your provider account, and a provider may retain submitted content according to its own settings and retention policy. Imprinta does not use that content for advertising or tracking.

For App Store privacy disclosure purposes, manuscript text deliberately sent to an optional voice provider is classified as User Content used for App Functionality. This transmission is linked to the provider credential you supply, is never used for tracking, and does not pass through an Imprinta-operated server.

Imprinta does not include service credentials for these providers. You supply and control your own credentials. You can stop using an online provider or remove its credential at any time.

Apple’s on-device speech processes manuscript text on the device and does not send that text to Imprinta or a third-party voice provider.

Data collection, tracking and advertising

Imprinta does not include advertising, cross-app tracking or an Imprinta-operated analytics service. Imprinta does not sell personal information. Imprinta does not transmit your manuscript to an Imprinta-operated server.

Retention and deletion

Local information remains on your device until you delete the relevant book, preference or app. Exported copies and backups remain wherever you chose to save or share them and must be deleted from those destinations separately. Information processed by an optional third-party provider is subject to that provider’s retention policy.

Security

Imprinta uses Apple platform storage and security facilities, including Keychain for configured API credentials. Imprinta .imprinta backup files are unencrypted JSON files containing complete manuscripts and cover assets, so store and share them securely. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so use care when selecting third-party services and sharing files.

Children

Imprinta is a general-audience productivity application and is not directed to children under 13. Imprinta does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an Imprinta-operated service.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Imprinta changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are made.
